Harvard Family Research Project is seeking a Research Assistant to provide research support to our out-of-school time (OST) and evaluation teams.

This is a great position for someone looking to apply their evaluation skills to OST and education policy initiatives. You will support overall project work and help with the collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data. The Research Assistant reports to an HFRP Project Manager for research and evaluation projects and works largely independently but in collaboration with other researchers.

This position will afford you the opportunity to:

  • Help to develop qualitative interview protocols and conduct interviews
  • Develop annotated bibliographies
  • Conduct literature reviews and track background research
  • Assist in writing reports and articles
  • Maintain databases and clean and enter data
  • Collaborate on other OST- and evaluation-related projects
  • Engage in other administrative tasks as needed

Basic Qualifications

We're looking for someone with a college degree and two years of work experience in education and/or program evaluation and in qualitative and quantitative research. Familiarity with SPSS and Access is preferred.

Additional Qualifications

The ability to work independently and multitask is required. Excellent organizational skills and flexibility are essential. The ideal candidate is detail oriented and possesses comprehensive knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods, strong writing and communication skills, and the ability to work in both collaborative and self-directed situations.
