Carolina Buitrago is a Senior Research Analyst at Harvard Family Research Project (HFRP). Her research interests focus on the intersection of organizational practices in schools and early education settings with the quality of instruction, family engagement, and child outcomes.
As a member of the HFRP team, Carolina supports the design and implementation of mixed methods evaluation efforts of federally and privately sponsored initiatives that support the learning and well-being of children and their families. Carolina works directly in the evaluation of the National Center on Parent, Family, and Community Engagement, which provides technical assistance and support to Head Start programs. She also contributes to the development of professional development and other resources that translate research findings into materials for multiple audiences including practitioners and policymakers. Prior to HFRP, Carolina worked for Massachusetts Department of Education and for school-based mental health programs in the U.S. and abroad.
Carolina received her doctorate in Education Policy, Leadership, and Instructional Practice at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She also holds an Ed. M. in Education on Risk and Prevention from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
