FINE Newsletter, Volume I, Issue 3
Issue Topic: Family Involvement and Out-of-School Time

Resources & Research From Harvard Family Research Project

Harvard Family Research Project’s Issues and Opportunities in Out-of-School Time Evaluation briefs highlight current research and evaluation work in the out-of-school time field. These documents draw on HFRP’s research work in out-of-school time (OST) to provide practitioners, funders, evaluators, and policymakers with information to help them in their work.

As national dialogue elevates the importance of OST and of complementary connections among learning supports, family engagement in OST has become a critical issue for program staff, policymakers, educators, administrators, and parents. In this forthcoming Issues and Opportunities in Out-of-School Time Evaluation brief, Harvard Family Research Project explores the benefits of and strategies for engaging families in OST programs, as well as the role of systems and intermediaries in supporting family engagement in OST.
